After graduating from Brooklyn Technical High School, I came to Queens College where I am now studying Applied Physics and Pre-engineering. STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) has always been the main part of my education, but I also highly value my liberal arts education which was nurtured at QC by the inspirational faculty and motivated peers. They have taught me how important it is to be an informed and active participant in the communities I belong to.

Outside of academics, I have a wide range of interests and activities. I am a third year fellow of the Jeannette K. Watson Fellowship, a program which provides internships, mentoring, and enriched educational opportunities to promising undergraduate students in New York City. In my two years in the program, I have interned at a non-profit called Global Kids and a law firm called Shearman & Sterling, LLP. For more information on the Jeannette K. Watson Fellowship, please click the link. I also participate in the Project ExCEL Mentoring Program at Queens College. Having an excellent mentor and close academic advisers made settling into the College a great experience and opened up doors to incredible opportunities. I hope to show my gratitude to the people and the program by participating as a mentor this year.

One of my favorite hobbies is to breakdance, which I learned at BTHS’s Breakdance Club where I served as Vice-President. I also love superheroes and comic books, my favorites being Spiderman, Iron Man, and Batman.

My dream is to work on dynamic technical projects where I develop great products or create innovative cutting-edge technologies. I would very much like to have a career like Steve Jobs or Tony Stark (Iron Man), not necessarily for the salary, but for the type of work they do – a job where I can create things that deliver amazing experiences and functions. Despite the frustrations that may ensue at any job, I believe this is one where I would be able walk in and leave excited everyday.
